VITAL ORTHODONTICS FOR DENTISTS - 72 CPD Hours

Session 1-  4th – 6th May 2012: Getting Started 
Covering basic diagnosis, case selection, treatment planning, the effects of orthodontic treatment on facial aesthetics and the basics of craniofacial growth and development. Hands-on exercises include cephalometric analysis, bonding and mechanics.
Session 2 – 22nd – 24th June 2012 : Class I Survey & Biomechanics 
Addressing treatment timing issues, when to treat and when not to treat. Basic orthodontic biomechanics, intrusion and advancing wire fabrication and placements, along with various ligation techniques will also be covered with hands-on exercises on advancing utility arches, intrusion utility arches and molar uprighting springs.
Session 3  - 7th – 9th September 2012: Class II and Class III Survey Extractions 
The third session addresses Class II and Class III considerations and treatment modalities including correction in mixed and permanent dentition, archwire selection, sequencing, elastic wear and set up, and adjunctive intrusion techniques.
Session 4  - 2nd – 4th November 2012: Extraction Mechanics, Finishing, Detailing and Aesthetic Considerations 
Covering extraction mechanics and timing, along with a focus on finishing and detailing. Aesthetic considerations, ortho-prosthodontics cases, retainer design and adjustments will be covered. Hands-on exercises including artistic bends and multiple finishing techniques.
